I still like to design.

Some of you might be wondering if the design work I did was just that, done = a long time ago.  And, to that, I'd say nope.  I'm still doing it, but just don't blog about it very often.  Here is some proof:

Some news as of late... Melimba and Beccabury have a mini-mini fabric line coming out (meaning two patterns, in two different color ways).  I have no idea on when it might be coming out and where it will be sold, but we're excited that something is finally in the works for production.  I'll put up some pictures as soon as I get the green light.  Kind of exciting...  Also, they redid the designer page on Riley Blake Design's website.  It was funny putting together our bio and figuring out what photo to use.  I was thinking our "racing day" photo would be good, but we opted for another one.  You can see it here.  One day we should think about taking some REAL true photos of us together instead of scrounging up these snapshots where we have to crop out babies and other people.  Let's put that on the to-do list, okay, Becc?

here's the "racing day" snapshot, in case you forgot how beautiful we were.  baHH!

Anyway, on to the main event.

Take for example, my friend Bekah.  We used to be friends and co-workers at a darling stationery store, Moon Mippy.  Now we just get to be friends.  It is fun that she asked me to help her out with some new baby stationery.  I was really happy when she told me she was a fan of elephants.  I am TOO!  Here's what we came up with.  Oh, and don't you just LOVE her name she picked out.  So cute.

I never know which color I like it in best... so I typically do a few on different card stocks.

Remember how I bought a ton of adhesive paper?  Gotta use it.  Decided to make some stickers.
This next one was also for Bekah.  Her friend was having a baby girl, Monroe Paige.  Isn't that a sweet name?  I'm such a fan of yellow these past two years.  Silly that I haven't done a lot of stationery with it until recently.  I used this same design for one of my favorite friend's little girl.  Sophie Tess.  Is that name darling or what?!  I can't believe I forgot to take pictures of it!  Sigh.  Oh well. You can get the idea...

Babies are abounding, and I love it.  Another favorite friend just added to her family as well.  And, since I've been on the elephant kick, I decided to make a little family with them for a set of family stationery.  I love the baby elephant the most.
Yes, another great friend added to their clan as well.  I knew that she loved giraffes and has blogged about them on many occasions.  So, of course, a giraffe family was in order.  In the end, I decided to not do the golden background paper.  She and her husband are the definition of CLASSY, so I thought the ivory card stock looked a little classier.

Another great friend (who also worked at Moon Mippy) had a little dolly turning 2.  Since Tillie is totally into stickers, I thought her little Brooklyn might like the sticker idea.  And, yes, I took the original design from Tillie's 2nd birthday logo.  But these colors are so much more hip.

I'm currently working on another baby project (as in, it's printing right now), and it is making me really excited!  Stay tuned for that.  At the rate I'm going, I'll probably post about it in 6 months.  baaA!

Anyway, just thought I'd share a few of the things I do when I burn the midnight oil.

Also! thanks for the kind words about Calvin and his hospital visit.  We are doing MUCH better now.  Still not a champion drinker, but he's starting to drink using a sippy cup (the original ones we already had, of all the sippy cups?!).  Hallelujah, none-the-less.  And, I'm still experimenting with different formulas to see which ones he likes (or will tolerate) most.  If you have any suggestions, holler them out!  Thanks, friends.

Hope you're having a Totally Terrific Tuesday.
the end.

Have I mentioned lately how TALENTED you are!? I hope you're told on a DAILY basis. I LOVE the elephants (as well as all your awesome designs)! I also meandered over to read your bio on the Riley Blake website - love it! You know what I love best about it though? It's totally you. After all these years Mrs. Rawlings would be so proud to know you've developed your "voice" so well. Go Melis! Go Melimba and Beccabury! Go Cougs!

Ummmm... LOVE! You have some serious talent girl! Those elephants, to die for! I am in love with yellow right now too so I am pretty sure I need that yellow flower card made into thank you cards so I can use them whenever I want! Can't wait to see your fabric line too!

I just painted our family room a GORGEOUS golden yellow (think sunflowers) and adore the giraffe (and elephant) cards. So cute. What would my family be? I'll have to think about it and then place an order on your etsy site ;)
I LOVE your designs.
